Points Shared Between “D” & “E”

by Andy Hammond on November 30, 2011

In their second pairing of the season the points were shared as the match fluctuated one way then the other.

Top performance on the night went to John Catterall who remains unbeaten in the league for the “D” team, he was supported by Cliff and Matt with one win each.

For the home team there were two wins each for Les and Rich with only Jane not managing a singles win, but Jane did combine with Rich in the doubles to level the match after being two games down to Matt and Cliff.

Rich and Jane are becoming the team to beat in the doubles as I think they are undefeated so far this season.

Cam & Dursley Wilt Under Pressure

by Andy Hammond on November 30, 2011

The top of the table clash against Cam, was possibly the hardest match yet, opened by Kev taking Harry in three straight, only to be taken to five by an on form Joe, before winning.
James had his work cut out from the start, and was pushed to four by Bev, raised his game to take Joe in four, almost got Harry but was pipped to the post in the fourth.
Captain (Laurence) made up the numbers, in 9 straight games, leading into an edgy five set doubles with Kev, the duo scraping through in the 5th against the pairing of Harry & Joe.Good result 9-1

Sheepscombe proved too strong on the night beating the “D” team by a six point margin. Starting with a 77 point advantage the home side could not hold on to their lead despite a heroic effort from John Catterall, who was left just too much to do in the last game. Needing to pull back [...]
